Get Involved

We want you to join us! Data Dive is for everyone.

And we mean that! There are a few ways to be involved, and a way for anyone interested.

[ Graphic of icons describing that -- Everyone is welcome to Data Dive ! (Data Newbies, Students, Researchers, Community Nonprofits, Professionals, and you!) ]

The easiest way to get involved is to attend our Data Dive. This is free and open to all participants. Learn more about our 2016 Data Dive, coming Saturday 11/12.

Community non profits give Data Dive a purpose! Read more about nonprofit participation in our past and current Data Dives and contact us about your interest. We are here to help you understand how you fit in to the day. A call for nonprofit partners and an application is sent out in the spring or summer before each November dive. Typically, decisions and commitments are made in August or September.

Students and local community members who want to gain new data skills are welcome to come to our free and open Bootcamps, which offer short tutorials on a range of data -related topics. Bootcamps happen about once a month during the academic year at the University of Michigan. See our scheduled bootcamps and connect with us to hear about more!

Masters-level and bachelors-level students are welcome to apply to our Client Teams. These teams were announced the weeks of 9/14 and 9/21. Another round of Client Teams will be selected in Fall 2017.

If you do not have time to be part of a client team or are interested in other levels of involvement, you can sign up to volunteer with us. This will probably involve set up and take down the day of the event, some marketing or prep the weeks before, or other miscellaneous tasks. You could still participate as a normal attendee for most of the day of Data Dive.  Contact us to let us know you’re interested at
